Molti di noi lo fanno quotidianamente, rassegnati dalla laconica lentezza nel caricamento di Windows XP (del resto si rifà la macchina proprio per questo: velocizzare la macchina ).

In effetti da Windows 2000 a Xp hanno velocizzato il tempo “apparente” di startup, facendo caricare dopo il logon tutti i servizi e applet vari.

Una soluzione semplice è quella descritta da BrainFuel che consiste nel far partire automaticamente l’utente con un autologon e poi eseguire subito lock della workstation.

Un nuovo sistema operativo? Noooo..

E’ semplicemente una suite di prodotti open source e commerciali in trial per risolvere la vita alle persone e canalizzare l’uso quotidiano di internet su google.

Se poi la creatività di google svilupperà un nuovo s.o., sarà comunque un successo.. :-/

Interessante che sia anche un altro esempio di applicazione di Ajax: avete presente l’odiato applet di Windows XP Add/Remove Programs? Sulla pagina di download del pack è possibile scegliere quali componenti della suite da scaricare. Cool!

Sebbene sia stato scritto con PHP , ho installato WordPress al primo colpo.

Il mio caro vecchio blog era stato scritto in un paio di viaggi tra Vicenza e Milano (quindi in circa 4 ore) e soffriva purtroppo di alcune “lacune”, come la mancanza di commenti e i trackbacks. Era comunque un gioiello di di semplicità: tutto i posts sono contenuti in un DataSet salvato sul filesystem come xml e su cui applicavo trasformazioni, come il conteggio dei posts per mese.

WordPress 2.0 è il software per blog di riferimento ed anche un buon esempio di utilizzo di Ajax.
